Which gw2 profession should i play

Mesmers are able to teleport between two locations, cast spells to make fighting doppelgangers illusions that can be a distraction for enemies while you escape or burst and cause damage. They are a class that everyone wants in their pvp or group matches. Heart of Thorns: Chronomancers use masters of time. They rewind time and take back conditions dealt on allies. Wells of time insure that spells are countered and make enemies slower while giving allies quickness.

Chronomancers cripple enemies and block attacks. Path of Fire: Mirages confuse enemies and heal your mesmer. Mirages play mind games. They are masters of deceit and trickery. They blind and interrupt opponents. Guardians are natural healers. Their main function is to support allies by protecting them and casting spells that benefit the team. Their shields give them the power of defense to ward off hard spells cast from the enemy line. Guardians are a must have in any group event but are weaker if left alone.

Heart of Thorns: Dragonhunter gives guardians some much needed offensive skills. They are able to throw spears, shoot arrows, and fire missiles. They are able to lay traps that cripple enemies when they cross over them. They also get more healing powers for themselves and allies. Path of Fire: Firebrand gives guardians the ability to burn. They also cause bleeding by scourging. Revenants are only playable if you have the Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire expansions.

Revenants are one with spirits, mists, and auras. They use energy from auras, which is key since this is what gives your character the ability to deal damage as well as stay active. Revenants also have heavy armor which makes them durable in the battlefield. Heart of Thorns: Herald gives the revenant a shield of protection that blocks attacks and grants self-healing.

They are also given toughness, protection for allies, and speed. Path of Fire: Renegade revenants get arrows that cause bleeding. They shoot flaming arrows into the sky and knock enemies down. If you believe in prayer, so do renegades. They seek aid from the spiritual realm which causes the revenant and their allies to have regenerating abilities.

GW2 has a great selection of different professions to choose from. The best class often depends on if you would rather kick the crap out of opponents or heal wounded allies. Although there is a lot to consider when selecting a profession, rangers are the simplest to master, can be a DPS or healer, and are one of the deadliest.

If you want to deal heavy damage, go for the engineer, whose skill and battle-might are unmatched. If you would rather heal, the guardian is the profession to choose. Whatever profession you decide to use, GW2 will ensure exciting and challenging-ly fun play. GW2 gave many new skills and traits to their professions through Heart of Thorns. The elementalist, mesmer, engineer, and ranger and amongst some of the most impressive specializations offered.

There were also increased quality in the guardian and warrior professions. The mesmer stands as the most fun and powerful profession in GW2 Heart of Thorns. They are entertaining and offer many new skills. Path of Fire was a dynamic expansion. No gods are needed for the engineer.

With its hammer, explosives, and healing abilities are definitely impressive and makes this profession one of the most feared to encounter. The elementalist also has a lot to offer with its dual element skill. Either way you pick, Path of Fire gave birth to some of the best skills in GW2 history.

Cool, versatile weapons Heavy damage Can set turrets Cons. It will describe the outline of each profession without getting lost in details or elite specializations. The professions, as known as classes, of GW2 are divided into 3 groups that determine which armor the character can wear and influence the style of play in a superficial way:.

Highly protected and well armed, warriors are found to be naturally in place in chaos of melee where they can eliminate their adversaries with brutality. With the best defense statistics of the game, a wide range of weapons to choose from and many offensive enhancement capabilities, warriors triumph over their enemies face to face.

Adrenaline is the special mechanism that helps warriors in battle. Their adrenaline is accumulated each time the warrior attacks, gradually filling a gauge above the weapon skills.

This bar increases the effectiveness of a special skill determined by the selected main hand weapon. The more the bar is loaded, the more powerful this skill will be. Combined with heavy armor, the warrior is a naturally difficult class to kill. The warrior can also count his great mobility to disengage from an unfavorable situation.

Inflict AoE remotely? Use the long bow. Deal damage from alterations? Take a sword. Throw an enemy from a cliff? This is the lowest number in the game with one exception.

Warrior skills are powerful but you will have to make choices for your build. Throw yourself at your enemies, knock them out or immobilize them and inflict heavy damage with your key weapon skills.

Your choice of weapon can lead you towards more control for less damage or less control but more damage. Your utility skill can make you more dangerous or allow you to temporarily ignore enemy hits. Guardians are hybrid soldiers, capable of using sword and magic. Based on the classic archetype of the paladin, guardians specialize in the use of benefits to enhance their capabilities while being highly effective in direct combat. Class mechanics embodies this supportive aspect: all guardians channel exclusive virtues.

Virtues are a set of 3 passive bonuses that enhance the fighting abilities of the guardian. These bonuses can be sacrificed temporarily to strengthen allies, transforming a source of personal power into a powerful advantage for the group. The virtue of resolution continually regenerates health when it is active, the virtue of courage allows the guardian to block attacks periodically and number of skills confer protection and regeneration.

They must not forget that they wear heavy armor making them very resistant. Guardians have access to virtually all benefits of the game to improve a group as needed. Guardians have the tools to chase their enemies and quickly eliminate them.

They have only one real remote weapon that inflicts respectable damage but hardly reaches mobile targets. To counterbalance this advantage, these skills have important cooldown times.

They must be used wisely. Guardians inflict damage with their key weapon skills like warriors but instead of neutralizing their enemies, guardians prefer to cancel their counter-attacks. Powerful strikes will be blocked by Aegis, small blows will be punished by Retaliation advantage while alterations will be converted to advantage.

Rangers are adventurers who adapt to all situations, using their weapons and their pets. As capable at a distance as they are in melee, ranger use mobility and agility to dominate their opponents. The special mechanics of the ranger is his pet. A ranger can charm juvenile animals in nature to help him in battle. Animal companions range from imposing bears to swift felines to vicious devourers, each with its unique skills. Although not always reliable, pets are a significant bonus to ranger damage and an effective bodyguard.

Rangers have the greatest range of the game and can inflict great damage while remaining out of reach for their enemies. The fight presents a beautiful fluidity. The class also allows for a wide variety of play styles, with builds that accumulate passive bonuses and others that require good timing in the use of skills.

Rangers are viable in all game modes. Whatever the role assumed, there is another class capable of fulfilling the same role more effectively.

The offensive support potential of the profession is appreciated, but others can bring more. The Ranger class is an easy profession to tame for beginners, but at a high level the management of the pet requires a lot of practices, especially in dungeon and WvW. Ethos: Rangers must take a decision that affects the game plan.

Either we rely on the pet to inflict damage or the pet is just an extra force. The first builds family is resistant but has poor damage. The second builds family is more aggressive but more fragile. Although the engineer can only use a very small number of conventional weapons, he has access to specialized kits such as flamethrowers, grenades etc.

It is no shock why people have become addicted to this awesome game, and if you are one of the true fans, this quiz is perfect for you. Take it up and see which guild wars 2 profession suits you best. I try to kill them slowly just so I can play around a bit more and make the humiliation even worse. I single out the weak and run them over as fast as I can, preferably with some help from my friends to make it even quicker and harder.

Many a mickle makes a muckle. Damage over time abilities and pets make you more mobile to boot. Not more than what I can do with my mouse and keyboard, after all; keeping out of melee range is basically all I need to do. Search Speak now. Questions and Answers. Do you always play together with your friend s or do you prefer to explore on your own?

I make sure none of my friends even play GW2, or at least not on the same server. Chronomancers emphasize the use of buffs for themselves and allies while Mirage elites use clones and other sneaky tactics to overwhelm opponents in one-on-one combat. They also have the benefit of being in demand with any group.

Think of them as an effective mix of Thief and Revenant. The opponent should always wonder what the Mesmer will be up to next. Chronomancers can be invaluable to teams in higher-tier content thanks to other ability to manipulate the "flow of time" during battle, while Mirage can offer a massive distraction point for enemies thanks to their deceptive abilities.

There are brutal tanks who can keep themselves and their allies alive. The Dragonhunter gives Guardians better mobility and berserker-like DPS while the Firebrand can be either a damage-dealing powerhouse or a team support healer.

The only downside, which is a minor one, to Guardians is that they tend to be niche in combat. Guardians need healers to back them up, Dragonhunters are better in shorter fights, and Firebrands are good in long, drawn-out fights. They can more than hold their own in solo combat, but they really shine in group fights. Guardians are literal meat shields and forgetting that is why players tend to struggle with them. Another important tip about Guardians is to trust the healers in the team to keep them alive and focus all their efforts and attention on mitigating enemy damage output.

Dragonhunters are capable of producing some of the most impressive damage in the game, alongside the Firebrand which can turn the tides of battle with their incredibly powerful tomes that are useful in higher-level content. In solo, they shine by devastating groups quickly with AOE attacks, and in groups, they are excellent backline fighters who can buff allies, heal the group , or rain hellfire on the enemy.

They can be glass cannons at times, but it's only a problem if the enemy survives the chaos an Elementalist can unleash on the battlefield. If the player wants to quickly obliterate everything on the screen this is the class to pick. Elementalists need to pick whether they want to heal or deal damage. Healing-based Elementalists need to all but ignore the enemy and focus on allies while damage dealers do the opposite.
